Van Buren earns victory over Wisdom> Tardif, LaPierre score goals

VAN BUREN – Lyn Tardif broke a scoreless tie when she booted in a Nicole Sirois feed with 18:20 left in the game to propel Van Buren to a 2-1 schoolgirl soccer victory over Wisdom Tuesday.

April LaPierre added an insurance goal off a Casey Violette assist with 9:19 left for 4-5 Van Buren. Hope Ouellette made 10 saves on 15 shots.

Nicole Gagnon set up Tracy Guerrette with 22 second left for Wisdom of St. Agatha’s lone goal. Jen Derosier made 15 saves on 23 shots.

Bangor Christian 1, Woodland 0

At Bangor, Jen Wilkes scored from the middle of a goalmouth scramble with 22 minutes remaining to give Bangor Christian its second win in as many games. Woodland is 0-2.

Stephanie Regan made seven saves for the winners and Ann Dolan stopped four shots for Woodland.

Fort Kent 2, Limestone 0

At Limestone, Robin Lamarr scored twice as the Warriors shut out the Eagles.

Lamarr scored the first goal unassisted and the second off a Heather Bard assist.

Andrea Marquis made 15 saves on 17 shots for Fort Kent and Sarah Durepo made 14 saveson 19 shots for Limestone.

Caribou 3, Houlton 2

At Houlton, Carrie Theriault’s second-half goal gave Caribou a 3-1 lead and turned out to be the game-winner.

Sarah Hunter and Kim Landeen had the other goals for 3-3 Caribou while Autumn Gentle and Heather Wilde scored for 4-2-2 Houlton.

Megan Lombard and Jackie Mignone combined for six saves on 13 shots for Caribou and Jessica Prosser had seven stops on 12 shots for Houlton.

Ashland 3, Central Aroostook 2

At Mars Hill, Tracey Devoe’s goal late in the second half on a pass from Erin Campbell was the difference as the 5-2 Hornets downed the 4-2-3 Panthers.

Emily Marecaux and Heidi Maker had a goal each for the winners and goalie Mandy Maker stopped five of seven Ashland attempts.

Cathy Dill and Lindsay Boyd hooked up twice with Dill on the receiving end in the first half and Boyd tallying in the second to pace Central Aroostook of Mars Hill. Misty Hewitt stopped 13 of 16 in net.

George Stevens 3, Calais 1

At Blue Hill, Brook Lawsing and Emily Lewendowski each had a goal and an assist to propel the Eagles of Blue Hill to the win.

In the first half, Lawsing opened the scoring witha goal off a Lewendowski assist. Calais’ Holli Tapley tied the score with an unassisted goal.

Then in the second half, Erika Carter and Lewendowski both scored unassisted goals.

Betsy Lepper stopped three of seven shots for George Stevens, while Rachel Clark stopped 12 of 27 shots she saw.

Old Town 2, Sumner 0

At East Sullivan, Kristen Tracewski and Jody Kenniston scored the goals and Kendra Brown stopped all nine shots she faced to lead the Indians to the win.

Jenni Finley added an assist on Tracewski’s goal for 2-0 Old Town.

Stacie Warren and Marita Buteau combined to make 14 saves on 16 shots for 1-1 Sumner.

Boys soccer

Van Buren 6, Wisdom 1

At Van Buren, the Crusaders avenged an earlier 1-1 tie with the Pioneers, ripping off five second-half goals to earn the win.

Brian Pelletier and Travis Lajoie scored two goals each for the winners, while Isaac Cote added a goal and an assist. Mike Sirois had a goal and Chanel Wright an assist. Goalie Nathan Marquis made six saves on 13 shots for the 5-2-2 Crusaders.

Andy Soucy converted an Eric Soucy goal into the lone goal for 5-3-1 Wisdom of St. Agatha. Chad Bouchard made 10 stops on 17 shots.

Houlton 1, Caribou 1

At Houlton, Ryan Soucie’s early second-half goal, three minutes after Lucas Ritchie had broken a scoreless tie, enabled Caribou to salvage a tie.

Kyle Giles assisted on Soucie’s goal and Joe Husted assisted on Ritchie’s goal.

Jason St. Peter had 12 saves on 18 shots for 3-1-2 Caribou while Ryan Tremblay had 18 stops on 24 shots for Houlton.

Jonesport-Beals 2, Narraguagus 1

At Harrington, the 1-0 Royals scored twice in the second half to edge the 0-1 Knights.

Shane Kenney’s goal with 6:28 remaining in the game off a feed from Joey Bazylak proved to be the game winner. Kenney also assisted on a Stephen Mawson tally. Goalie Byron Carver saved six of the eight shots he faced.

Silas Rossi had the lone Narraguagus goal from Zachery Gage-Croll. Bruce Hall also stopped six of eight in net.

Fort Kent 9, Limestone 1

At Limestone, Bart Plourde had four goals, two unassisted, tWarriors stay undefeated as they notched their eigth win.

Limestone fell to 0-10-2.

Lucas Levesque added two goals. Tyler Berthiaume and Brad Saucier each had one.

Billy Ward scored Limestone’s lone goal.

Shawn Theriault stoppped 9 of 10 shots, while Seth Fernald stopped 23 of 32 shots for Limestone.

Greenville 2, Bangor Chr. 1 (OT)

At Greenville, Tom Deming knocked in a Pat Libby feed from eight yards out with 1:58 left in the first overtime to give the Lakers the win.

Ian Morrill scored the first Greenville goal on an assist from Garth Blair. Josh Glavine made nine saves on 10 shots in goal for the 3-0 Lakers.

Nate Bassett scored an unassisted goal for 1-1 Bangor Christian. JOsh Ouellette made 20 saves on 22 shots.

Cam-Rock 1, Mount View 0

At Thorndike, Nik Cullenan ran onto Justin Gushee’s cross and knocked it into the net from 15 yards out with 13:10 left in the game as Camden-Rockport posted the win.

Drew Mazzeo made 11 saves on 15 shots for the 1-1 Windjammers.

Andrew Stevenson stoped 21 of 23 shots for 1-1 Mount View.
