Stevens lifts Rockland to victory

CAMDEN – Erin Stevens scored on a breakaway with 44 seconds left in overtime to lift the Rockland Tigers to a 1-0 victory over the Camden-Rockport Windjammers in schoolgirl field hockey action Thursday.

Glorijane Tootill made five saves on six shots for Rockland, now 3-2-1.

For Camden-Rockport, now 2-5, Heather Taylor made three saves on four shots.

Old Town 2, Foxcroft 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Old Town used a pair of first-half goals to earn the win.

Karen Oliver and Denise Case each scored a goal for the 5-2 Indians. Audrey Brissette saved all seven shots she faced to preserve the shutout.

For 4-3-1 Foxcroft Academy, Cassie Hoffman saved two of four shots.

JV: Foxcroft 2, Old Town 0

Orono 4, Dexter 0

At Orono, Molly Holmberg scored twice to help Orono win and improve to 5-1-1.

Megan Westhoven and Brye Lewis each scored once and Liz Chambers had two assists to help in the win.

Sue Gardner had four saves on four shots for Orono, while Kim Breton had 17 saves on 22 shots for Dexter, now 2-3-2.

Hampden 2, John Bapst 1

At Hampden, Kylie Temple and Willow McVeigh each scored a goal in the first half to secure the win for the 5-2 Broncos.

Ammy Hafford made four saves on six shots for Hampden.

For John Bapst, now 3-3-1, Alyssa Ross scored and Edythe Dyer made 15 saves on 17 shots.

Belfast 2, Oak Hill 0

At Belfast, Joanne Curtis and Megan Walker each scored goals to help the Lions gain the win.

Goalie Andi Woodbury stopped 11 of 13 shots for the 2-4-1 Lions.

For Oak Hill of Sabattus, now 0-5-1, keeper Becky Spencer saved 11 of 14 shots.

Girls soccer

Bucksport 4, Foxcroft 0

At Bucksport, Kara Henderson booted in two goals to lead the Golden Bucks to the victory.

Jessica Gordon and Katie Pelletier each added a goal for Bucksport, now 6-1, and Kelly Downes made four saves on eight shots.

For 2-4 Foxcroft, Sherrie Zimmerman made 11 saves on 18 shots.

George Stevens 3, Schenck 0

At Blue Hill, Emily Lewandowski scored two goals while leading 7-1 GSA.

Sarah Clifton added a goal and Brooke Lawsing had an assist for GSA. Betsy Lepper and Erin Willey combined on five saves on 12 shots.

Old Town 3, Nokomis 0

At Newport, Kendra Brown rejected 14 of 25 shots to lead the Indians to the victory.

Kalina Cuarisma, Alanna Maurais and Sarah O’Keefe scored for 4-2-1 Old Town. Jody Kenniston assisted on the Cuarisma goal, while Danielle Wentworth assisted on O’Keefe’s goal.

For 1-5-1 Nokomis of Newport, Adrienne Nickerson stopped 11 of 19 shots.

Hampden 6, Brewer 0

At Hampden, Amanda Burrill scored two goals in the second half to help sew up the win.

Katie Fraser added a goal and an assist for the 5-2-1 Broncos. Lindsey Dilts, Annie Fitzpatrick, and Amy Jo Crawford each scored once. Meghann Taylor made four saves on six shots.

Heidi Everett saved 13 of 19 shots for the 0-7-1 Witches.

Mount View 4, Lincoln Acad. 0

At Newcastle, Mount View had four players score unassisted goals to defeat Lincoln Academy.

Andrea Cochrane, Jenny Neves, Rachel Cochrane and Andrea Cochrane all scored.

Angel Brown had three saves on five shots for Mount View, while Maria Rosendo had 27 saves on 35 shots for Lincoln Academy.

PVHS 4, Central 1

At East Corinth, Mitchela Doyon scored a pair of goals to pace Penobscot Valley.

Lindsay Windle and Rachel Dawson each scored a goal for 4-4 PVHS of Howland, and keeper Carrie Braley stopped 11 of 15 shots.

For 1-6-1 Central of East Corinth, Jessica Gallant scored and goalie Amanda Wright saved six of 10 shots.

Bangor 5, Ellsworth 0

At Bangor, Cathy Flemming had her second four-goal game of the season to lead the Rams to their seventh win in eight games.

Katrina Abell added a goal and goalie Anne Wright notched her sixth shutout of the season with three saves on three shots.

Cindy Brumley saved 13 of 22 shots for the 1-4-2 Eagles.

Boys soccer

Islesboro 4, Pine Tree Acad. 1

At Islesboro, Islesboro’s defensive pressure helped limit Pine Tree Academy to nine shots on goal.

Josh Conover, Derek Johnson, Wayne Rollins and Tracey Wuori each scored a goal for 4-2 Islesboro. Steve Shand saved six of nine shots.

Devon Copsey scored for 1-2 Pine Tree of Freeport and Phillip Schmeal saved seven of 26 shots.

Hermon 2, Dexter 0

At Hermon, Eric Tableman scored two unassisted goals to lead the Hawks to a win.

Sean Smith made four saves on 10 shots for Hermon, now 3-1-2.

For Dexter, now 0-6, Dan Cox made 17 saves on 22 shots.

Lincoln Acad. 6, Mount View 1

At Thorndike, Ryan Mara and Josh Wilbur each scored two goals to lead Lincoln Academy of Newcastle to the win.

Derek Hanna added a goal and an assist for the 5-2-1 Eagles while Mark Lutte scored one goal and Peter Gagnon notched two assists. Heath Crockett made five saves on 10 shots.

For Mount View, now 1-5-1, Ben Jacobson scored on an assist from David Miller. Jacob Von Oesen made five saves on 13 shots.

Camden-Rockport 2, Medomak 0

At Camden, Jon Moro and Doug Mazzeo each scored a goal in the first half to help put away the win for the 5-3 Windjammers.

Drew Mazzeo made 10 saves on 13 shots for Camden-Rockport.

For Medomak Valley of Waldoboro, Keith Simmons made 11 saves on 18 shots.
