DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Matt Gill’s 7-yard touchdown reception from Jay Furtado proved the difference as UMass-Dartmouth held off visiting Maine Maritime 21-18 here Saturday afternoon.
Maine Maritime is now 2-2 in New England Conference play and 2-3 overall.
John Barbarossa scored on a 32-yard interception return with 12:02 left in the first quarter to give UMass-Dartmouth a 7-0 lead.
UMass-Dartmouth (3-2, 2-1) extended its lead when Joe Goodine, who finished with 101 yards, ran into the end zone from 52 yards out to make it 14-0. A pair of Maine Maritime scores from Steve Tardif and Erik McDaniel cut the advantage to 14-12 before Gill’s score sealed the victory.

Wesleyan 37, Bates 16
At Lewiston, John Pascucci and Tom Themistocles combined for 252 rushing yards and four touchdowns to lift Wesleyan to the win.
Bates jumped to a 9-0 lead before the Cardinals took control en route to their ninth successive victory over the Bobcats.
Themistocles had 151 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown to open the third quarter. Pascucci ran for 101 yards, including TD runs for eight, 26 and five yards.
Bates quarterback Dan Hooley threw for 326 yards, including touchdown strikes to P.J. McGrail and Jared Libby.

Amherst 34, Colby 0
At Amherst, Mass., Rich Willard threw 238 yards for three touchdowns as undefeated Amherst beat winless Colby.
Amherst (4-0) scored on its second drive as Willard threw 16 yards to Chris Miller.
Matt Murray scored in the second quarter on a 7-yard pass from Willard to give the Lord Jeffs a 14-0 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Amherst scored on a 1-yard run by Bob DiSabato and a 39-yard interception return by Todd Nichols.
Before leaving the game at the 53 minute mark, Willard connected 63-yards to Colin Barnicle for the final score of the game.
Amherst’s defense held Colby (0-4) to 42 yards rushing and 127 yards passing.

Hamilton 25, Bowdoin 15
At Clinton, N.Y., Dan DeBlois threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns and Scott Milleisen rushed for 154 yards to lead Hamilton.
DeBlois completed 30 of 47 passes to lead the Continentals (2-2), giving the quarterback the school mark for most completed passes in a career with 300.
Hamilton jumped out to an early lead, scoring on its first possession when kicker Andrew Scanzillo hit a 32-yard field goal. Bowdoin (1-3) answered back later in the first quarter when fullback Nat Wysor scampered for a 3-yard score.
But DeBlois and the Continentals would dominate for the rest of the half, as the quarterback hit Chris Kelly and Adam Hodges for touchdown passes to put Hamilton up 23-7 at the break.
Polar Bears quarterback Hayes MacArthur connected with John Paquet for a three-yard touchdown toss midway through the third quarter, and a successful two-point conversion closed the gap to eight points, 23-15.
