ROCKPORT — James Arrison of Rockport has announced he will seek election to the Knox County budget committee in District 5 as a write-in candidate.

Arrison said his concern is for affordable county government.

Arrison is general manager of Avocet Systems, a Rockport computer firm. He has served on the John Street Methodist Church finance committee, Rockport budget committee, Rockport Planning Board, and Maine Republican Committee. He is chairman of the John Street Council of Ministries and Rockport Republican Committee.

Arrison said that there is no name for the seat on the ballot and voters must write in the candidate’s name and town and check the box appearing next to the write-in option.
