PORTLAND – David Lisnik, Chris Junkins and Tom Carey scored two goals each to lead the Bangor Rams to an 8-1 high school hockey victory over the South Portland Red Riots at the Portland Ice Arena Saturday.

Andy Sumner added a goal and two assists and Jason Cooper was the playmaker with three assists for the 2-0 Rams. Jason Tuck made 15 saves on 16 shots before being relieved by Richard Laferte, who stopped all four shots he faced.

John Robinson ruined the shutout with a goal on a Mike Hauser assist for 0-1 South Portland. Allan McIntire stopped two of five shots before Scott Tame entered the game and made 21 saves on 26 attempts.

Foxcroft 5, Presque Isle 3

At the Northern Maine Forum in Presque Isle, Ben Preston notched two goals and two assists to lead Foxcroft to the win.

Travis Phillips and David Speed both scored off Preston assists and Preston scored on a Speed assist and on a Robby Freese assist. Mike Lebel scored off a Jamie Costa assist.

For Presque Isle, Kyle Folsom scored on a Joe Duncan assist, Jason Straetz scored on a Norman Elliot assist and Josh Hayes notched an unassisted goal.

Ben Orton had stopped 20 of 23 shots for Foxcroft and Kyle Mormeau stopped 27 of 23 shots for the Wildcats.

Waterville 4, NYA 3

At Waterville, Craig Lenz notched the game-winning goal on a Ross Hall assist 4:08 into the third period to grab the Purple Panthers’ win.

Eric Nadeau colllected two first-period goals to give Waterville, now 1-0, a 2-1 lead on assists from Hall and Eric Mitchell. James LaLiberty made it 3-1 with a Chad Hart assist with 3:19 left in the first period.

North Yarmouth Academy, now 0-1, tied the game up 35 seconds into the third on Nick Meintell’s power-play goal with assists from Chris Tanis and Matt Greason. Jon Morton had an unassisted score, and Eric Gilbert had the second-period, power-play goal with assists from Jeff Mercier and Greason.

Trapper Clark made 13 saves on 16 shots while picking up the win for Waterville. Brian Gagne stopped 24 of 28 for the Clippers.

John Bapst 9, Hall-Dale 3

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, David Raczek, Derek Damon, and Jon Shuttlesworth each scored twice to lead John Bapst of Bangor past Hall-Dale of Farmingdale.

Jason Ashley added a goal and two assists for the 1-0 winners while Jared Ashley added a goal and an assist. Nate Waring scored once and Nate Susi chipped in with three assists. Goalie Dan Allen made 19 saves on 22 shots.

For 0-1 Hall-Dale, Nick Howard had the hat trick with three goals and Alex Loye notched two assists. Goalie Chris Desjardins made 25 saves on 34 shots.

Boys basketball

Schenck 76, Penquis 71

At Milo, Mike Jamo hit a 3-pointer with five seconds left in regulation to force overtime and four Penquis starters fouled out down the stretch to allow the Wolverines to prevail.

Mike Kimball led Schenck of East Millinocket with 18 points, P.J. Ciarrocchi added 11 and Daron Stanley collected 10. Jamo and Chris Wyman both turned in 16 points.

Chris Cowing led Penquis of Milo with 24 points and eight rebounds. Tony Heal collected 18 points and Mike Harris notched 14.

At Deer Isle, Nick Wiberg and Mark Williams boosted the Mariners to the win with a combined 24 points.

Wiberg racked up 14 points and Williams added 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Rick Cox led Shead of Eastport with 12 points.

At Guilford, Piscataquis had a 19-4 fourth-quarter scoring run to overcome Penobscot Valley of Howland.

Darby Smith had a game-high 16 points and Lindsey Goulette had 11 points to lead the Pirates of Guilford. Courtney Martin pulled down nine rebounds.

The Howlers dashed out to a 23-14 halftime lead, which they held through the third quarter. Mitchell Dogan hit double figures with 10 points.

Laura LaVallee paced Mattanwcook with 22 points and Allison McLaughlin added seven.

For Central, Jen Greatorex had eight points and 10 rebounds. Angela Allen chipped in with seven points and 10 boards.

At Fort Kent, the Blue Devils used a balanced scoring attack to beat the Warriors.

Kristen Gower scored 12 points for the winners and Heather Farrell and Holli Tapley added 11 each.

Nicole Cyr paced Fort Kent with 19 points, including 13 in the second quarter when the Warriors cut the Calais’ lead to 26-23. Andrea Marquis added 10 points.
