EMMC offering two CPR classes in health program

BANGOR–Eastern Maine Medical Center will offer CPR classes and health-screening during January as part of its Healthy Heart Program.

A CPR class will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday., Jan. 6 and 8, at EMMC. A CPR update class will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, also at EMMC.

A blood pressure and cholestrol screening program will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, by the HEalthy Heart Program at the First United Methodit Church, 703 Essex St. As a New Year special, the program will test two people for the price of one but appointments are necessary.

Another screening will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Brandow Conference Room, EMMC. The New Year special applies to this, hospital officials said. To register for classes or screenings or for information call 973-7088.
