EAST SULLIVAN – Sumner overcame a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter behind Matt Welch and Adam Fisher, who each hit a pair of 3-pointers, to earn the 82-81 schoolboy basketball win against Washington Academy of East Machias Friday.
Sumner’s Jeb Pruett led all scorers with 31 points. Welch finished with 15 points and Fisher had 13.

The Pandas had rallied from a 10-point deficit to take a 61-60 lead on an Adam Peters basket with less than a minute left, but Rivera answered for the Red Devils, who held on.
John King tossed in 15 points for the winners.
Peters had 24 points to pace Lee, which went 16-for-26 from the foul line. Chris Carr added 11.
