Alley pours in 33 to lead Royals past Raiders

JONESPORT – Mike Tibbetts’ scored from underneath the basket with 12 seconds left Friday night to lift Jonesport-Beals to an 87-86 schoolboy basketball victory over Washington Academy of East Machias.

Tibbetts finished with 17 points, but Brian Alley led all scorers with 33 points for the Royals. Nick Look added 13 points and Byron Carver had 12.

Brendan Ashby netted 25 points for the Raiders. James Smith netted 24, and Josh Ramsdell and Glen Wood contributed 14 points each.
