Bangor manhandles Sanford

BANGOR – Jared Gordon exploded for seven goals as the Rams easily skated to the 14-2 high school hockey win against Sanford at Sawyer Arena Saturday.

Jason Cooper added two goals for 5-11 Bangor. Corey Junkins, Chris Junkins, Andy Sumner, David Lisnik and Stuart Cooper each chipped in with a goal. Richard Laferte and Nick Beaulieu combined to make 20 stops on 22 shots.

For 3-7 Sanford, Joe Gilberti and Jason Beaupre each scored a goal. Brian Samia and John Tederous collaborated on 49 saves on 63 shots.

Messalonskee 4, Hampden 2

At H.O. Bouchard Arena in Brewer, Brian Marchetti tallied two goals to lead the Eagles to the victory.

Mike Engert and Ryan Biethen each netted a goal for 11-2 Messalonskee of Oakland. Goalie Ryan Ricky rejected 31 of the 33 shots he faced.

Derek Dubois and Matt Astbury had a goal apiece off feeds from Tyler Whitehouse to pace 6-8 Hampden Academy. Brian Catalda and Ian Dilts teamed up to stop 13 of 17 in net.

Presque Isle 9, Old Town 2

At the Northern Maine Forum in Presque Isle, Josh Hayes and Doug Carlisle each scored twice to lead the Wildcat attack.

Jaime Brewer, Norm Elliot, Jason Straetz, Derek Derosier and Kyle Folsom all had goals for 8-4 Presque Isle. Goalie Ben Duplessis turned back 21 of the 23 shots he saw.

Nate Rand and Nick Sucy netted a goal apiece to pace Old Town. Jeremy Smith stopped 39 of 48 in goal.
