Houlton teen charged in Clozaril incident

HOULTON — Patrick McAffee, 18, of Houlton has been charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs after he allegedly gave a local 17-year-old boy prescription drugs last Thursday on the way to school.

Police said Sunday the prescription drug was Clozaril, a brand name for clozapine, which is used in the treatment of schizophrenia.

Houlton police Officer David Hersey said another juvenile who allegedly gave the drugs to McAffee also has been charged with trafficking in scheduled drugs.

The youth who took the Clozaril reportedly got sick while he was at Houlton High School, and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. He was held for several hours at the hospital for observation.
