Brewer snaps streak

BREWER – The Brewer Witches broke a 34-game losing streak with a 50-46, comeback win over Caribou Saturday.

Leslie Trott scored 15 points and Liz Boone had 10 to pace the Witches.

For the Vikings, Meghan Scott led the way with eight points.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Nate Susi led the Crusaders’ charge with three goals and two assists.

Nate Waring added two goals and three assists, while Jason Ashley and David Raczek each netted two goals and two assists for 13-6 John Bapst. Jared Ashley had one goal and two assists and Matt Leigton scored once. Carl Buffington finished with 18 saves on 23 shots.

Hampden 5, Gardiner 3

At the Kennebec Ice Arena in Augusta, Matt McGinnis beat Tiger goalie Jared Baker with 9:40 left to give the Broncos the edge.

Tyler Whitehouse, Scott Tardiff, Jason Yehle, and Rob King each tallied a goal for Hampden Academy. Brian Cataldo turned back 30 of the 33 shots he faced in net.

Bangor 5, Edward Little 2

At Pettingill Arena in Auburn, David Lisnik netted a hat trick to power the Rams to the win.

Chris Junkins tallied a goal for 7-12 Bangor as Jared Gordon added a goal and handed out three assists. Goalie Jason Tuck stopped 26 of 28 shots.
