FORT KENT — The Can Am Crown 250 was officially over Tuesday afternoon but a lone musher was still on the trail between Allagash and Fort Kent and was expected to cross the finish line while a mushers banquet was being held Tuesday night.
Eleven of the 12 mushers in the race — three had scratched during the competition — were into Fort Kent just minutes after noon Tuesday.

Matott was still 100 miles from the finish line when Don Hibbs of Millinocket crossed the finish line of the 250-mile race early Monday morning in a record time of 28 hours and nine minutes.
George Cook of Ashland, N.H., crossed the finish line at 8:15 p.m. Monday night in ninth place.
On Tuesday, Michael Santos of Ludlow, Mass., came across the fisnish line at 9:41 a.m. and Barry Dana of Bingham came across at 12:05 p.m., in 10th and 11th.
Hibbs is the first musher from Maine to win the five-year-old race and the only winner besides Andre Nadeau of St. Melanie, Quebec.
