ORONO — The deadline for Maine college students to apply for 12-week state government internships is April 1.

The program begins June 2 and ends Aug. 22, combining work experience and an education program in state government.

Most interns will be at state agencies in Augusta. Students must be Maine residents who have completed two years of college and are enrolled to continue in college.

Spring 1997 graduates are eligible, but not students who have taken part in the internship program before. All Maine colleges and universities have application forms.

For information, contact Margaret Chase Smith Center, UMaine, 5715 Coburn Hall, Orono 04469-5715, telephone 581-4136.
