VEAZIE — Frank Crowley, who has been at the helm of this town’s Police Department for more than five years, is retiring.

Crowley came out of retirement from the Bangor Police Department to assume the police chief’s position in adjacent Veazie in October 1991, according to Town Manager William Reed.

Though Crowley’s retirement from Veazie takes effect on April 26, his last day on the job will be March 20. Reed said the town owes Crowley some earned time benefits.
