WASHINGTON – Stanley Munson, a disabled veteran from Belfast, is among 300 veterans from 36 states who will be in Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colo., next week to experience the exhilaration of skiing slopes of the Rocky Mountains at the 11th National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic.

WASHINGTON – Stanley Munson, a disabled veteran from Belfast, is among 300 veterans from 36 states who will be in Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colo., next week to experience the exhilaration of skiing slopes of the Rocky Mountains at the 11th National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic.

During the clinic, scheduled from March 23-28, the veterans will learn or improve their skills in adaptive Alpine and Nordic skiing. They will also take part in a variety of adaptive activities and sports including wheelchair basketball, scuba diving, self-defense and snowmobiling.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Disabled American Veterans, and hosted by the VA Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colo.
