It was refreshing to read “Shooting for spring” in the Bangor Daily News’ March 29-30 edition. Too often, the media ignore the fact that the vast majority of firearms are owned by normal, everyday people and used for entirely legitimate purposes. Thank you very much for the coverage.

Please pursue this further because it is just the tip of the iceberg. I believe you will find there is a great deal of competetive shooting going on right in this area in many other shooting diciplines.

I would like to point out, however, that the author, John Hubbard, was typically modest in his reporting of the better shooters in Maine. You see, John was this year’s Maine state champion in the championship shoot held earlier this year at the Hampden Rifle and Pistol Club. Lee Ohmart Brewer
