WATERVILLE – Junior catcher Barrett Williams’ two-run single cracked a 12-12 ninth-inning tie to serve up Husson College’s 16-12 baseball win against Colby College at Coombs Field Monday.
Colby held a 12-4 lead after four innings on the strength of six home runs, including four against Braves starter Brent Brown, but Husson capitalized on 10 Colby errors and put together a six-run seventh to capture the win.
Sandy McCuaig led Husson with a 5-for-6 game, including a double, and Brian Malo also doubled. Dennis Roy picked up with win.
Losing pitcher Matt Paquette led the Mules with three hits, including his second home run of the season. Gregg Forger, Harold Graves and Ben Russell each had a home run and a single, and Pat McBride singled twice.
