BLUE HILL – Sarah Haney’s three-run homer in the fourth inning helped the unbeaten George Stevens Academy Eagles beat the Narraguagus Knights 6-5 in schoolgirl softball action Friday.
Heidi Carroll earned her seventh straight win by striking out 14 and April Wallace ripped a two-run homer in the first for Narraguagus and Emily Froese added a solo shot in the third.

At Millinocket, Shelagh Slack scored the eventual game-winner from first base on a sixth-inning infield single by Crystal Farley as Mount Desert Island won.
Slack doubled, singled and drove in a pair of runs for MDI. Farley added a pair of singles and an RBI, while Jen Tripp singled twice.
Nicole Duplisea smashed a triple and drove in three runs for Stearns.

At Husson College in Bangor, pinch runner Sara Michaud scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Crusaders the win.
Michaud had stolen second base and advanced to third on a fielder’s choice, before coming home with the winning run. Lori Lafontaine powered John Bapst by knocking in five runs on two doubles, two singles, and a triple. Stacy Rudnicki plated four runs of her own on two singles as Kristi Millard chipped in with three singles.
Jen Richardson rapped five singles and drove in six runs to lead Sumner of East Sullivan. Tovan Willey added two singles and a triple.

Sadlier went five innings as the starting pitcher and hit a solo homer in the second inning. Cole relieved Sadlier for the final two innings and also had a double, two singles, and RBI. Toby Cole added a double and an RBI.

Montgomery had a single to go with his double and Streams had two base hits.
