AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Labor has announced the expansion of its call center service for unemployment claims to the Ellsworth area. Effective May 5, the Bangor Call Center began taking claims by phone and by mail for people who live in the areas served by the current Ellsworth unemployment office.

People who previously filed new unemployment claims in person at the Ellsworth field office will now file their claims by phone or by mail as walk-in service for unemployment claims will no longer be available at Ellsworth.

The Maine Job Service will continue to have an office with walk-in service in Ellsworth. The Job Service office has moved to a new location at 14 High St. where it will be at the Training and Development Corp. office building.
