In your article reporting on the Hancock town meeting (BDN, May 13), you quoted me as saying that tipping fees increased 30 percent. What I said was the hauling contract had increased 30 percent and the tipping fees (at the Penobscot Energy Recovery Co.) had increased approximately 10 to 12 percent. I also stated that while I did not support a change in the free sticker system, others in the town administration preferred the town vote on the proposed fee system.

If any residents wish to discuss this further, or propose any changes in the current system, they should contact me, the board of selectpersons or the Solid Waste Committee. Dexter R. Bellows Hancock
