College JESSICA WALKER

Jessica Walker of Island Falls recently was honored as the MVP of the women’s basketball team at Castleton State College in Vermont. The former Southern Aroostook High School standout was an All-Mayflower Conference selection.

WILLIAM MACHON

William Machon has been named the MVP of the Colby-Sawyer College men’s track and field team for the second straight year. Machon, a sophomore from Ellsworth, broke the school record in the 400 meters (53.46 seconds).
