The owner of Camden’s Wayfarer Marine, Harvey Picker, is selling the yacht repair yard to a group of local residents. The group includes John J. Sanford, Parker S. Laite and Ward I. Graffam.

Sanford is a partner in the law firm Harmon, Jones, Sanford, and Elliot. Laite owns Laite Construction. Graffam was a UNUM senior executive and is now chief operating officer of Young America, the yacht competitive in the America’s Cup.

“Each of the three new owners is a leading Camden resident. Two of them are yachtsmen,” Picker said. “This assures me that the transfer will be in the best interest of the town and of Wayfarer’s employees.”
