BANGOR — The U.S. Department of Labor has made its latest round of grants to support employment and training programs for veterans. The Maine Department of Labor has received $577,500 in funding for its particular veterans’ program.

The grant is part of a two-year funding commitment. The second year of funding was contingent on the state showing that, during the first year of the program, it successfully assisted veterans groups in overcoming employment barriers, and eased their transition into unsubsidized employment.
