Maine 9, Houlton 7
At Houlton, Maine and Houlton got their New England Regional game in Monday before the rains came and washed out two regularly scheduled games.
Maine scored two runs in the top of the seventh, which looked like a good insurance policy. However, those two runs turned out to be the game-winners as Houlton posted a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh.
Sean Kerry ripped a pair of singles for Maine and drove in two runs. Chris Wick knocked in three runs for the winners.
Mike Weston went 2-for-4 for tournament host Houlton.
Western Massachusetts was locked in a game with Eastern Massachusetts when the rain hit. Their game will be finished today at 8 a.m. Maine’s game with Rhode Island was postponed until 10 a.m.
