BUCKSPORT — The first day of classes for all Bucksport public elementary schools and high school freshmen will be Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Kindergarten and grades one through three at the Miles Lane School will begin at 8:10 a.m. Kindergarten classes will be on a morning and afternoon schedule, with the first from 8:10 to 10:50 a.m. and the second from noon to 2:35 p.m. An open house will be held for all kindergarten children and their families 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Registration for Miles Lane School pupils will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, through Thursday, Aug. 28. Call 469-6666 for information.

Children in grades four through six at the G.H. Jewett School may register from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Aug. 29. Call 469-6644 for information.

Students at Bucksport Middle School may register from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. before Thursday, Aug. 28. Call 469-6647 for information.

Bucksport High School students may register, beginning the week of Aug. 18. Appointments may be made by calling 469-6643. First day for freshmen begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, and students will have shortened classes, a barbecue for lunch and special activities in the afternoon. Casual clothing is recommended for the first day. All other high school students and new students will begin classes Sept. 3.
