BANGOR DAILY NEWS (BANGOR, MAINE

For five years and counting, Bangor Housing Authority has been making promises to us, the residents of Birch Circle. Have any of these promises been kept? No. We were promised a playground, a basketball court, swimming pools, and a shelter for the kids at the bus stop. These are for the entertainment and safety of our children. We are still waiting. The kids have nothing to do.

On the evenings of August 9 and 19, a few of the parents got together and had a hot dog and marshmallow cookout on the grill for our children. They loved it and we weren’t hurting anyone. The fire department was called both times. They came, they chuckled, they extinguished the fire and just think of all the taxpayers money that was wasted for absolutely nothing. We had previously gotten the OK from Philippe E. Trottier, Public Housing Occupancy Coordinator, to have a cookout for the kids. We have requested a meeting with Elsie Coffey, Executive Director, to discuss these concerns. Please help our children!
