READFIELD – Khano Smith’s unassisted goal with 15:45 left in the first half lifted the Maine Central Institute Huskies to a 1-0 schoolboy soccer win over the Maranacook Black Bears Tuesday.

Sean Souza made 12 saves on 14 shots for 6-1 MCI.

Tony Creek saved 10 of 15 shots for the 1-4-1 Black Bears.

Mount View 2, Rockland 2

At Rockland, Will Bonzagni’s second goal of the game tied it up at 2-2 with 16:47 left in the second period and the teams battled through two overtimes to the draw.

Travis Reynolds added two assists and Sam Rhode saved eight of 10 shots for 2-5-1 Rockland.

Ben Jacobson netted a goal off an assist from Peter Taliaferro and Matt Leonard added a goal off a pass from Tim Light. Jacob Von Oesen recorded 13 saves on 18 shots for 0-5-1 Mount View of Thorndike.

JV: Mount View 2, Rockland 2

Higgins Christian 5, Liberty 0

At Blue Hill, David Bryson scored two goals to lead Higgins Christine.

Shawn Blodgett and Seth Strout each added goals and Brandon Philbrick saved three of four shots for 1-2-1 Higgins Christine Academy of Charleston.

Arian Murick recorded 21 saves on 32 shots for 0-2 Liberty.

Girls soccer

MCI 1, Maranacook 0 (OT)

At Pittsfield, Maryann Petela scored off a corner from Megan Baker four minutes into overtime,

Kate Connors made six saves on 13 shots for MCI, now 4-2-1.

Kristen Sinclair had nine saves on 20 shots for Maranacook, now 3-3.

Penquis 4, Central 0

At Milo, Erin Weston scored three goals to fuel Penquis.

Weston scored twice unassisted and once off an Amanda Wallace assist, while Maria Kirby knocked in the fourth goal. Lillian Gerrish made eight saves for 2-4 Penquis.

Jen Allen stopped 24 of 28 shots for 0-6 Central.

MDI 5, Foxcroft Academy 2

At Dover-Foxcroft, Maija Kaldro scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Mount Desert Island to the win.

Emily Henry added two goals while Josie Lawler and Katy Lawson each had an assist. Joanna Crispe added a goal and Lacey Richards saved six of 15 shots for 5-1 MDI.

Laurie Lavoie scored both goals for 2-6 Foxcroft and Jodie Nelson recorded 13 saves on 24 shots.

Dexter 3, Lee 0

At Dexter, Morgan Titus and Sarah Disotto each had a goal and an assist to pace the Tigers.

Angie Hogan scored a goal off Briley Belanger’s assist for the 5-2-1 Tigers. Megan Hughes saved 10 of 12 shots.

Tori Nute saved 28 of 36 shots for the 3-4 Lee Academy Pandas.

Nokomis 2, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Adrienne Nickerson made five saves and Hillay Fraser’s first-half goal proved to be the game-winner as Nokomis improved its record to 2-5.

Megan Brown added an insurance goal in the second half off a Katie Page assist.

Michelle Millard had seven stops for 1-5 Hermon.

Foxcroft Academy 1, Nokomis 0

At Newport, Becky Warren netted the game-winner 2:46 into overtime to lead the Ponies. Cassie Hoffman picked up the shutout by saving 11 of 16 shots for 6-1 Foxcroft Academy.

Jill Oliver recorded five saves on six shots for 5-2 Nokomis.

Skowhegan 5, Gardiner 2

At Skowhegan, Emmy Jerry netted two goals to lead the Indians past Gardiner.

Tara Bedard and Danielle Waugh each scored a goal. Gina Dinan added a goal and two assists, while Christine Stevens had two assists. Kim Leo and Phyllis Ward each had an assist. Fawn Albert saved seven of nine shots for 6-1 Skowhegan.

Casey Emmons scored two goals and Naomi Chapman added an assist for the 3-3 Tigers. Dodi Sidelinger recorded 20 saves on 25 shots.

JV: Skowhegan 3, Gardiner 0

MCI 4, Maranacook 1

At Pittsfield, Hannah Andrews scored three goals and notched an assist to lead the Huskies.

Kristyn Graham had a goal. Abbey Ross and Amanda Leavitt each added an assist while Natalia Mayhew saved four of six shots for the 5-1 Huskies.

Laurie Kent scored on an assist from Jen Faulhaler while goalies Meaghan Opuda and Robin Spinney combined to save 14 of 20 shots for 2-5 Maranacook of Readfield.
