EAST MILLINOCKET – Chris Wyman scored three times and added an assist to carry Schenck past Penquis in a 5-2 schoolboy soccer win Friday.

Nate Jamo added a pair of goals for 5-1-1 Schenck. Nicholas Lyons and Dustin Thompson had assists. Aaron Turcotte stopped all six shots he faced.

Tom Gillis turned away 14 of 22 shots for 0-5 Penquis.

Central 1, Dexter 0

At East Corinth, Matt Strout scored the game’s only goal when he converted a pass from Justin Ladd with 37:25 left in the first half.

For the 3-4 Devils, Rob Reynolds had four saves on 10 shots. Keeper Ryan Robichand saved seven of 15 shots for the 3-5-1 Tigers.

PCHS 2, Foxcroft 1

At Guilford, David Emrich scored the game-winner unassisted from 18 yards out with 15:45 left in the second half.

Julian Caldwin scored for Foxcroft in the first period and Scott Decastro tied it with 34:32 left in the second.

John Ritano stopped 18 of 20 saves to earn the win for 4-1-3 PCHS.

Andy Hunt made 18 saves on 23 shots for 5-2-1 Foxcroft.

Penobscot Valley 2, Lee 1

At Howland, Seth Colbath scored an unassisted goal to put the Howlers on top for good.

Colbath scored with 16:17 left in the game, just over three minutes after Lee’s Trygue Rostad tied the game on an unassisted goal.

Brad Thibodeau gave the Howlers the lead at the 33:57 mark of the second. Martin Leonhardt had the assist.

For 5-3 Lee, Travis Jacobs had 12 saves on 22 shots. Keeper Matt Lindsay had seven saves on 16 shots for 3-4-2 Penobscot Valley.

Machias 2, Woodland 1

At Woodland, Seth Kilton contributed two assists for the Bulldogs’ victory over the Dragons.

Aaron Getchell scored with 34:38 left in the first half and Micah Hall had a goal at the 23:19 mark of the second. Kilton had both assists.

In goal, Daryl Huwa had 16 saves on 18 shots for 1-6 Woodland. Ian McCarthy saved 11 of 15 shots for 4-2-1 Machais.

Field hockey

PCHS 4, Brewer 0

At Brewer, Darby Smiley scored a pair of goals as 8-0 Piscataquis of Guilford shut out Brewer.

Shandi Drew and Erin Smith each scored a goal for PCHS. Miranda Duran and Sasha Jackson assisted on goals. Janna Watson made four saves on 12 shots.

Jenny Coutts and Jessica Rowles combined to stop 10 of 14 shots for 0-8 Brewer.

Stearns 3, Hermon 2

At Hermon, Angela Berry scored a pair of unassisted goals to help Stearns earn its first win of the season.

Shannon Sirois also scored a goal for 1-8 Stearns of Millinocket. Colleen Burgess made 30 saves on 32 shots.

Monica Rowe and Megan Maskus scored for 2-7 Hermon. Briana Lane added an assist. Jean Nelson stopped four of seven shots.

JV: Stearns 2, Hermon 2

Dexter 1, Mattanawcook 0

At Dexter, Sam Haskell scored unassisted with only 1:58 remaining in the game as Dexter improved to 6-2.

Christina Dorman and Angie Westover combined to stop all three shots they faced.

Tracy Pickering turned away 14 of 15 shots for 2-5 Mattanawcook of Lincoln.

JV: Dexter 2, Mattanawcook 0

Central 6, Orono 0

At Orono, Emily Stupak scored twice as the Red Riots shut out Central of East Corinth.

Kim Black and Jen Buswell each scored a goal and added an assist. Megan Stinson and Crystal Strout each added a goal for 6-1 Central. Stephanie Roberts, Marie Cookson and Jaime Giles had an assist apiece. Jean Greateroux stopped three of four shots.

Jenn Brooks and Susan McLaughlin combined to stop 21 of 27 shots for 3-4 Orono.
