While I sympathize with Marcia Hatt’s dilemma in getting her child safely to school (BDN, Oct. 29), I also agreee with the Bangor School Department that it would not be fair to the other non-bused children for her child to be bused.

It seems even a small problem is often turned into a major crisis. I see a very simple solution, one even my mother used back in the mid-1930s when I was in the lower elementary grades. She had a willing and responsible older neighborhood child accompany me to and from school. Mrs. Hatt and other parents might find this idea useful.
