NEWPORT — Four people were charged Thursday in connection with a burglary that occurred last Friday at the Newport Redemption Center, according to Newport Police Chief James Ricker.
Two of the suspects charged are adults, Mark McArthur and Michael Rines, both 18 years old and of Newport. Both were charged with one count of burglary and one count of theft. The other two suspects were both juveniles.
Alcohol and beer were taken during the Nov. 7 theft, Ricker said earlier this week.
Rines also was charged with a second count of burglary in connection with a residential burglary that took place Monday on Grove Street. Personal items were taken from the home, Ricker said, and Rines was found in possession of some of these items.
Personal checks were missing.
