CARIBOU – Mike Arsenault scored 16 points and Peter Pitula added 12 to help the Bangor Rams cruise past the Caribou Vikings 82-51 in the mutual schoolboy basketball opener for the Class A teams Saturday.
Arsenault tallied 11 points in the third quarter. Duane Peoples put up seven points in the second and finished with 11.
Caribou’s Ryan Soucie connected on three 3-pointers and tallied 15 points to lead the Vikings.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor Friday night, goalie Ben Orton stopped all 25 shots he faced as Foxcroft Academy of Dover-Foxcroft earned its first win.
Adam Harvey, Mike Lebel and Seth Condon scored two goals each for the 1-2 Ponies. Dave Speed and Jake Brooks talled a goal each and Ben Preston notched three assists.
Goalie Nick Hussey stopped 48 of 56 shots he faced for 1-2 Kents Hill.
Presque Isle 4, Foxcroft 3
At the Northern Maine Forum in Presque Isle, Jason Straetz netted the game-winner on his third goal of the game off an assist from Kyle Folsom.
Folsom finished with a goal and two assists for the winners. Derrick Allen and Josh Hayes each had an assist. Ted Wright turned away 23 of 26 shots.
Ben Preston, Mile Lebel and Dave Speed each had a goal for Foxcroft Academy which blew an early 3-0 lead. Adam Harvey and Jamie Costa each had an assist and Ben Orton saved 23 of 27 shots.
