Marine Pfc. William R. White, son of Rosalia and Donald R. White of Bangor, recently reported for duty with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He is a 1993 graduate of Hanover High School, Hanover, Mass., and joined the Marine Corps in May. —-

Air Force Airman Lewis G. Jernigan has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Judy and Robert Jernigan of Winterport and is a 1995 graduate of Hampden Academy. —-

Marine Lance Cpl. Timothy T. Myers, son of Laurie B. Beylerian of Glenburn, and James Myers Sr. of Orono, is scheduled to spend the holidays deployed in the Mediterranean Sea with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 1995 gradute of Orono High School joined the Marine Corps in August 1995. —-

Navy Lt. j.g. Jeffrey R. Sexton, son of James and Ann M. Sexton of Linden Street, Bangor, is scheduled to spend the holidays deployed in the Western Pacific and Indian oceans with Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Eight, embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. He is a 1991 U.S. Naval Academy graduate. —-

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class David E. Whitney, son of Dennis J. and Kris T. Whitney of Cottage Street, Bangor, is scheduled to spend the holidays deployed in the Mediterranean Sea aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Guam. The 1991 graduate of Bangor High School joined the Navy in May 1993. —-

Capt. Kenneth Brown was awarded the Army Achievement Medal by the 1125th U.S. Army Hospital in Auburn for his contibution to development of computer operations at a reserve center. He designed and implemented a World Wide Web page for the unit. Brown is assigned as detachment commander in the Reserves. He lives in Albion with his wife and two teen-age daughters.
