I’m writing in hopes of saving someone $100.

Recently, my oldest son was in a car accident, so his dad, brother and I went to Eastern Maine Medical Center to visit him. We were there in about an hour. When we came out there was a ticket on my son’s windshield for $100 for parking in a handicapped area. There was no sign in front of the car, but later we found there was one on the ground, under the ice and snow.

We tried to explain to the people inside but were told it was in the hands of the Bangor Police Department. We went to the police and explained to them, but were told the hospital had a sign on each end and one in the middle, so that covered them.

So if you visit EMMC, take a shovel with you, because you may be parking in the wrong place and not know it. Myrtle Baker and family Old Town
