DOVER-FOXCROFT — At least two Piscataquis County inmates will face additional charges after a search Monday uncovered six marijuana cigarettes stuffed inside one of the facility’s television sets.
Piscataquis County Sheriff John Goggin said that the search conducted Monday was a routine one for any contraband that may have been carried into the jail. Police dogs trained in the detection of illegal drugs are used during these monthly searches.
Goggin said the inmates apparently removed the front panel of the television dial and stuffed the joints inside before replacing the panel.
An investigation into the discovery continues and inmates contained in the cellblock where the drugs were found were being interviewed late Monday afternoon.
