Island Falls — The Island Falls Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Whittier Congregational Church in Island Falls. Group leader Dottie Sines is from the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging. All caregivers are welcome. For more information, call 1-800-439-1789.

Fort Kent — Northern Maine Medical Center (NMMC) in Fort Kent is offering courses in CPR and first aid the following dates:

At NMMC’s second floor solarium: CPR course 6-9 p.m. Jan. 12 and 14 and first aid course 6-9 p.m. Jan. 19, 21, and 26.

At Madawaska Outpatient Center’s second floor conference room: CPR course 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Jan. 10, and first aid course 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Jan. 24.

Both CPR and first aid can be taken as separate courses. For more information, or to register at least two days in advance, call NMMC’s education department at 843-3155, Ext. 3123. Enrollment is limited and there is a fee.

Fort Kent — Northern Maine Medical Center (NMMC) in Fort Kent will hold the following in the upcoming week:

ADEF Diabetes classes run by Connie McLellan, R.D., L.D., will meet 2-4 p.m. Jan. 6 at the hospital’s medical library. To register, call Reggie Murray at 834-3155, Ext. 3124.

“Getting to Help on Time,” a community lecture by Lise Malenfant, R.N., will be held 7-8 p.m. Jan. 7 at the hospital’s in-service room. The lecture is free and open to the public.
