EDWIN D. PIERCE JR. has been named president of the recently established Bangor Insurance Services, a subsidiary of Bangor Savings Bank. Pierce previously was corporate risk manager at First Virginia Banks in Falls Church, Va., and before that was president and chief executive officer of First Virginia Insurance Services.
REBECCA ROSEN has joined Community Health and Counseling Services as coordinator of its Hospice program. Rosen has more than 20 years of nursing experience with a background in home health and hospice care. She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Maine.
DANA BARTONE has joined Aroostook Mental Health Center in Houlton as a staff psychiatrist. Bartone attended medical school at the University of Michigan School of Medicine and graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1995. Before joining the staff of AMHC, Bartone was employed as a staff psychiatrist at the student health clinic of Oregon Health Sciences University.
MELANIE J. BOWDEN has been named trust administrator at Bar Harbor Banking & Trust Co. Bowden, who has been with the bank for 11 years, attended Castleton State College and Husson College and is a graduate of the New England School of Banking. Her new responsibilities include the bank’s new professionally managed investment account program.
VICKI J. VINCENT and GAYLE M. DOANE have joined the Bangor certified public accounting firm Haverlock, Estey & Curran as partners.
JOHN W. LELAK has joined Community Health and Counseling Services as the assistant director of the Northeast Crisis Service. Lelak has a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Dayton and a doctorate from Wright State University. Before joining CHCS, Lelak was in private practice.
FRANCIS MCCARRIER has joined the nursing administration team at St. Joseph Hospital as director of perioperative services. He will oversee the operating room, ambulatory surgery unit, endoscopy, post-anesthesia care unit and pre-admission testing. McCarrier comes to St. Joseph from Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast where he was operating room director.
JOELLE D. SNIDER has been promoted to chief financial officer-treasurer at Snow & Nealley Co. in Bangor. Snider, who has a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from Husson College, joined the company in 1996 as comptroller. In her new position, she will be responsible for the financial management of the Snow & Nealley factory, the wholesale division and the company’s retail division.
DEBBIE HAMM has been promoted to branch assistant at Bangor Savings Bank. Hamm began her career at the bank in 1991 as a teller and worked her way through the teller training program, earning a professional certificate in 1993. Hamm, who lives in Alton, has held the position of customer service representative since 1994.
