BANGOR — Ken Ansin, president and chief executive officer of Ansewn Shoe Co. announced this week that each of the Bangor company’s 140 employees would receive a token of the company’s appreciation — in the form of a crisp $100 bill — to help raise spirits during the events caused by the recent, devastating ice storm.

“Many of our Ansewn employees live in remote and rural areas, and they have been hit hard by recent weather-related problems,” said Ansin in a press release. “They have endured power outages that created major obstacles to conducting their daily routines, and in some cases, put them out of their homes. The Ansin family would like to provide some help and a little positive excitement when, for the past several days, so much has been a struggle.”
