FARMINGTON – Jen Harriman’s basket with 30 seconds left in overtime gave the Bangor Rams a 61-59 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Mt. Blue Cougars Monday.
The Rams, down by 10 points for most of the game, rallied in the fourth with a 19-9 scoring surge to send the game into overtime.
Jlynn Frazier paced the Rams with 16 points, Allison Smith put in 14, Jen Harriman netted 12, and Emily Morse added 11.
Heather Ernest poured in 22 points for the Cougars and Megan Woodcock scored 13.

Presque Isle’s Jamie Brewer scored the game-winning goal and added an assist and Ted Wright saved 19 of 21 shots. Joel Duncan scored a goal.
Brothers Scott and Sean Tardiff each scored a goal for 2-6 Hampden Academy. Tim Morin notched an assist and Brian Cataldo recorded 18 saves off 22 shots.

At Alfond Arena in Orono, Eric Powers scored the unassissted game-winner with 27 seconds left in overtime.
Matt McKnight scored the game-tying goal for the 11-1 Red Riots off assists from Tom Hite and Adam Sewall to knot the game at 3-3 in the third period, only 40 seconds after Messalonskee had taked a one-goal lead.
Orono’s first goal came during a four-on-four and Noah Lundy knocked it in off an assist from McKnight. Sewall also tied the game at 2-2 with an unassisted goal and Stuart Cady saved 20 of 23 shots.
Mike Engert led 4-3-1 Messalonskee with two goals and assisted on Bryan Engert’s goal that gave Eagles a 3-2 lead at 10:04 in the third period. Ryan Ridky turned away 45 of 49 shots.
North Yarmouth 7, Bangor 1
At North Yarmouth, Malcom Thomas and James Garrett each netted two goals to lead the 10-2 Clippers.
James Garrett had three assists and Tony Quesada and Brian Gagne combined to stop 17 of 18 shots.
Jared Gordon gave 5-4 Bangor an early 1-0 lead off an assist from David Lisnik. Jason Tuck saved 31 of 38 shots.
