AUGUSTA – Oxford Hills of South Paris will defend its state Class A cheering championship after winning the Western Maine title Monday night at Augusta Civic Center. The other qualifiers from Class A were Bonny Eagle of West Buxton, Lewiston, and Biddeford.

AUGUSTA – Oxford Hills of South Paris will defend its state Class A cheering championship after winning the Western Maine title Monday night at Augusta Civic Center.

The other qualifiers from Class A were Bonny Eagle of West Buxton, Lewiston, and Biddeford.

Wells topped the Class B qualifiers, followed by Scarborough, Gorham, and Wiscasset.

In Class C, Traip Academy of Kittery led the way with St. Dominic of Lewiston, Winthrop, and Carrabec of North Anson second through fourth, respectively.

Monmouth took Class D honors, followed by Buckfield and Richmond.

Eastern Maine holds its regional championships today at the Bangor Auditorium, and the state championships are Feb. 7, also at the Bangor Auditorium.
