BANGOR – Joe Wordman scored nine points in the third quarter to lead Mount Deserst Island to the Eastern B League boys basketball championship with an 85-76 victory over Foxcroft on Monday night.

Wordman finished with 18 points, Ian Jones added 15, Chris Seely had 12, Rob Hebron netted 11, and Justin Norwood had 10.

Nate Richards fired in a game-high 21 points. Andy Lizotte scored 17, and Seth Kimball had 10 points to go with six steals.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Brad White scored two goals and John Taylor was perfect in net in the Black Raiders’ shutout.

White’s goals came in the first and third period. Ben Fracer and Jared Poulin also tallied goals for 13-3-1 Winslow. Taylor stopped the nine shots he faced.

Brian Cataldo made 45 saves on 49 shots for 4-12 Hampden.
