Kindergarten registration for the 1998-99 school year is being held at the following schools.

State law requires that a child must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 15 in order to enter kindergarten in the fall of 1998. Maine law also requires that children have the proper immunizations before entering school. School authorities request that a child’s birth certificate and medical record indicating history of diseases and immunizations be brought to the registration session.

Leroy H. Smith School in Winterport library, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 6. If it is not convenient to register your child at this time, come to the school office as soon as possible after March 6 to do so, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. It is not necessary to bring your child at the time of registration. Pupil screening and parent orientation have been scheduled for May 4 and 5.

Registration and screening for SAD 27 will take place at the following schools. Call your child’s school during the weeks of Feb. 23 through March 6 for an appointment:

Eagle Lake Elementary School, March 13. Call 444-5213.

Fort Kent Elementary School, March 18 and 19. Call 834-3456.

St. Francis Elementary School, March 12. Call 398-3107.

Wallagrass Elementary School, March 16. Call 834-5114.
