Six injured when car fails to heed stop sign

SABATTUS — Six people were injured, four of them critically, in a three-car accident Friday evening at the intersection of Route 126 and Pleasant Hill Road, police said.

A car carrying five teen-agers failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit broadside by an oncoming car. Four of the teen-agers were in critical condition. No names or further details of the accident were being released Sunday by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department.

Also injured was the driver of the car that struck the vehicle in which the teen-agers were riding.
