PORTLAND — A South Portland woman has been released on bail after being charged with having sex with a 14-year-old boy whose mother she met in a computer online chat room.

Laura Napoleone, 32, pleaded innocent this month to two felony counts of sexual abuse of a minor. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison.

The boy’s mother told authorities she struck up a friendship with Napoleone after meeting her in a chat room on America Online.

Prosecutors said Napoleone, who is divorced, admitted she had sex with the boy while visiting his parents’ home in the Lakes Region with her two young daughters last summer.
