AUGUSTA – Maine hunting and fishing licenses can now be purchased via internet, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife announced Thursday.

Licenses are available at the MDIF&W’s web site. The address is www.state.me.us/ifw.

Governor Angus King unveiled the idea at a State House press conference in February. He used his laptop computer to purchase the first available on-line fishing license.
