LAKE WALES, Fla. – Justin Turner collected four hits and five RBIs to lead Warner Southern to a 12-4 baseball victory over Husson College of Bangor.

Seth Lambert pitched five scoreless innings with four hits, one walk and three strikeouts to pick up the win.

Turner stroked a two-run double in the second inning and added an run-scoring double in the fourth as the Royals took a 3-0 lead. He hit another two-run double in the sixth.

Errors and Brian Malo’s RBI allowed Husson to get four runs back in the top of the seventh, but Warner Southern scored three in the bottom of the inning and four more in the eighth.

James Zukowski took the loss for the Braves. He pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing nine hits and nine runs while striking out four.

Jim Rush had two singles and an RBI for the Royals.

Softball

Albany sweeps Husson

At Fort Pierce, Fla., the University at Albany (N.Y.) shut out Husson twice by scores of 1-0 and 8-0.

In the first game, Lori DeSousa doubled in the lone run with two outs in the top of the third inning.

Winner Kara Faraone pitched five shutout innings and allowed only three hits. She also singled twice.

Husson’s Kelly Dow was saddled with the loss despite striking out five and allowing only five hits and one run in seven innings.

In the second game, DeSousa led the Great Danes to victory with three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run homer in the fourth inning.

Ann Bink and Nikki Carella each had two singles for the winners.

Kris Poynton pitched the five-inning complete game, striking out five. The game ended due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Dow doubled for Husson, which committed six errors.
