The Maine Business and Professional Women’s Futurama Foundation established by the Maine Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs Inc. will offer three $500 scholarships to Maine women.
One scholarship, given in memory of the late Rachel E. Lemieux of Augusta, will be awarded to a female high school senior who is attending college in the fall. Application forms are available at high school guidance offices.
A career advancement scholarship is offered to a woman, 25 years of age or older, for an accredited training program or college course. Application forms can be picked up at financial aid offices of Maine colleges.
The interim scholarship is available to a woman whose post-secondary education is in progress. An applicant must have completed at least one year of an accredited college or training program and must need to enroll for at least one more year before completion. Application forms are available at financial aid offices of Maine colleges.
All three scholarship application forms may be obtained by calling Karen Laplante, local BPW scholarship chairwoman, at 941-6601. Completed applications must be received by April 20 to be considered.
