ASHLAND – Kim Collier and Janet Corsey each notched three singles and three RBIs to spark the Southern Aroostook Warriors to a 15-13 high school softball victory over Ashland Friday.

Kristin Swallow chipped in with three singles and an RBI for the winners from Dyer Brook.

Courtney Junkins singled twice, doubled, and drove in three runs for the Hornets. Sarah Dwyer added three RBIs on two singles.

Presque Isle, Brewer split

At Brewer, Tami Corey pitched a two-hitter to lead the Witches to a 12-0 win in the opener, but the Wildcats edged them 9-8 in eight innings in the nightcap.

In the first game, Corey struck out four and walked none to earn the shutout win. Leslie Trott paced Brewer with three hits and three RBIs, Sara Agouab had a double and two RBIs, and Kristen Frey added two singles and an RBI.

Maren Milliard and Cara Miller each singled for Presque Isle.

In the nightcap, Presque Isle had four players with at least two hits.

Billie Hayward, Amy Roy, Milliard, and Miller each had two singles and Hayward added a double and RBI.

For Brewer, Corey smacked two singles, Frey doubled and tripled, Trott slapped a single and triple and drove in three runs, Kristy Pluard added three singles, Emily Bellmore singled and tripled, and Mandy Brigalli had a single and double.

At Sherman Station, Adele Cummings hit a two-run triple that highlighted a five-run fifth inning for Katahdin.

Kim Mann earned the victory, striking out six over seven innings, and she hit an RBI single in the fourth. Bethany Parent singled twice and drove in one. Olivia Anderson singled and scored three runs and Jenny McNally tripled.

Katie Williams paced Hodgdon with three singles and Danielle Fitzpatrick doubled. Holly Quint took the loss, striking out 10.

At Fort Fairfield, Kathy Russell limited Fort Kent to five hits over five innings while striking out two and walking only one.

Jennifer Voisine hit an RBI triple for Fort Kent.

At Harrington, Laura Morse held Washington Academy of East Machias to two hits over six innings, striking eight and walking two.

Lindsay Portrie highlighted Narraguagus’ eight-run third inning with a three-run double. Jessica Strout added four singles and Laura Morse singled twice, doubled, and drove in three runs.

Charlene Gaddis doubled with two outs in the fourth inning to break up the no-hit bid. Wanda Acoa singled in the fifth.

Nute singled twice and drove in two runs and Heather Scott singled and doubled. Tanya Mushero added two singles and a double and Melissa Krapf singled twice.

Wendy Phelps hit three singles and Ann Dolan singled and hit a two-run double for Woodland.

Kerry Flanagin hit a three-run single in the fourth for Washburn. Jana Woolard added an RBI single.

At Houlton, Becky Berry’s three-run triple in the third inning sparked the Shiretowners to victory.

Jess Crossman stroked an RBI single and Trisha Farrell added a single for Calais.
