SOUTH PORTLAND — An elderly woman was killed after she was struck by a car while walking in the parking lot of the Maine Mall, police said.

Theresa Paquette, 71, died Friday at Maine Medical Center. Her sister, Jacqueline Marcotte, 63, suffered a broken foot and minor injuries in the accident.

The driver of the car, Joanne Omang, 55, of Washington, D.C., has not been charged in connection with the accident.
