BANGOR – Sarah Webster fanned nine and walked five to lead Searsport to a 16-8 schoolgirl softball victory over Katahdin of Sherman Station at the Union Street Field Saturday.
Jessie Barton singled twice and Rosie Robert added a one-run single.
Jamie McNally went 3-for-4 with a single, a double and a triple and one RBI for Katahdin of Sherman Station.

Monmouth sweeps twinbill
At Monmouth, the Mustangs pounded out a combined 17 runs and 18 hits en route to a pair of routs over Bangor Christian on Saturday.
In the first game, Christy Howard won her sixth game of the year by holding Bangor Christian to just two hits in an 8-1 victory. Missy Jones had two hits and drove in two for Monmouth Academy. Howard and Faith Flannery also had two hits apiece.
Angela Rioux blasted a three-run homer in the first for Monmouth, helping the Mustangs to a 9-0 rout. Lisa Hasch took over in the third for Howard, and struck out 11, walking none. Rioux had three hits on the day.

Brewer wins two
At Caribou, the Witches used a potent offense to down the Vikings in both ends of a Saturday doubleheader.
In game one, Tami Corey stroked three hits and scored three times in Brewer’s 11-0 shutout, also earning the win on the hill. Kristen Frey had three hits, including a fifth inning homer, to go with two RBIs and three runs scored.
In game two, Frey was at it again, scoring three runs and driving in three on two hits in a five inning 15-3 Brewer victory. Leslie Trott hit a pair of singles for two RBIs for Brewer. Meaghan Lombard had two base hits and two RBIs for Caribou.

J-Beals sweeps DI-Stonington
At Deer Isle-Stonington, Tricia Carver was the winning pitcher in two shutouts over DI-S, throwing a one-hit, seven strikeout performance in the first game and a three-hit, ten strikeout effort in the second, while walking nobody in either game.
In the opener, Angela Douglass broke up Carver’s no hitter in the fifth as the Royals won 15-0. Renee Davis hit a two-run homer, Tammie Beal had a two-run single, Sam Stewart had a single, double and RBI, and Chelsea Carver hit an RBI single for J-Beals.
Tricia Carver hit an RBI double in the Royals’ 12-0 win in the second game. Beal laced a run-scoring triple and Carrie Woodward also had a triple for J-Beals.

At Houlton, Erica Hiscoe twirled a one-hitter, striking out six and walking none, and also lined three singles and drove in one in the Shiretowners’ win.
Jessica Bissonnette had two base hits, a double, an RBI and scored twice for Houlton. Wendy Stewart struck two singles and scored once.
Devin Jewett scored the Tigers’ only run, and Melody Belanger had a lone single.

DI-S, J-Beals split routs
At Deer Isle-Stonington, the Mariners combined for 19 runs in the third and fourth innings to put Jonesport-Beals away in the first game, but the Royals came back to throttle the hosts in a five-inning late game.
In the opener, Andy Eaton ignited the third-inning rally with a two-run homer in DI-S’s 22-9 rout. Eaton also hit a single and double and finished with four RBIs. Eric Ray hit a single, double and homer with three RBIs for the Mariners.
Ray Mills hit a three-run blast for Jonesport-Beals.
In the second game, Mike Lewark (7 RBIs) launched a grand slam and two-run homer, both in a 10-run first inning, as J-B rocked the Mariners 21-8. Josh Knowlton and Pat Beal each hit homers for the Royals.
Andy Bye had two doubles and a single for four RBIs for the Mariners. Andy Easton added a two-run home run.

At Newport, Jared Foster hit three singles for five RBIs to lead the Indians past the Warriors.
Jason Sirois smacked two singles and a double for four RBIs for Old Town. Jamie Kennedy had two singles, a three-run triple and five RBIs.
Richie Otis had two singles, a double and an RBI for Nokomis. B.J. Bowden lined a three-run triple and Greg Morse pitched in with an RBI triple.

At St. Agatha, Ben Jalbert scattered six hits and struck out seven in a complete-game win and blasted a two-run homer, a double and two singles for the Pioneers.
Ryan Paradis connected for four singles and four RBIs for Wisdom. Josh Roy hit a two-run homer and a single, and Corey Fongemie had a two-run shot to go with two singles and three RBIs.
Derrick Cooper led Madawaska with a grand slam and solo homer for five RBIs. Eric Gendreau had two singles and Andy Michaud parked a solo blast.
