Last year we bought a 1994 Buick and found out afterward about air bags causing injuries and death to short, small people, which I am. I found out a switch to shut them off, while I am driving, could be put in with permission from the federal government.
I got my permission on Feb. 9 but cannot find anyone who will do [the installation].
They talk about prejudice against gay people. What about us short people? I have to drive a car knowing [the air bag] could take my head off.
We had to vote seat belts in, and I voted for them. So how could they put air bags in that have killed children and small people without any vote or anything? Ethel Burgess Bucksport
